Choose the correct bathroom vanity for you

By Leon A. Zidan

When it comes time to choose the new bathroom vanity for your restroom, you may be confused as to what you want since you most likely have been using the same mirror that came with your restroom. However, if you are trying to reinvent your bathroom and give it a personal touch, you will have to learn how to choose your own bathroom mirror.

Believe it or not, the bathroom vanity that you choose is going to say a lot about your decorating style and the overall feel of your bathroom. This is because it is not only the one large item you have complete control over, but because it is at the same eye level of most of your adult guests. Thus, they are going to see the mirror in more detail than any other area of your home.

Since you were a teenager you have been more than likely using a bathroom vanity mirror to get yourself ready for school or work. In a public bathroom you will find a mirror over the sink so you can check your appearance. There may be a chance that you have been looking at yourself in the mirror since you were an infant and your guests may have also.

You want the bathroom vanity that they are going to see clearly to exemplify the theme of the bathroom and show that you have good taste. Therefore, you need to decide the overall theme of your bathroom and decide what emotion the bathroom should leave your guests with. Most people either choose to go with warm inviting rooms, or with cold classic sleek bathrooms.

Whichever theme and emotion you decide to choose, you will want a bathroom vanity that corresponds with it. If you decide you want the warm feeling, you will find that earthy colors will best radiate this feeling. A nice ivory coat of paint usually fits in well with a bathroom that has red and hunter green highlights. In fact, these colors will all fit in well with a wooden framed mirror.

It is to your advantage that the bathroom vanity can be changed because you can put your personality into this piece. You need to pick out the appropriate size for your bathroom. To balance out your mirror above a large sink, you can add a towel rack on one side and add a potpourri holder on the other. You can match all your accessories with the trim of your vanity mirror.

As you finish up with your personalized bathroom look into purchasing a bathroom vanity with silver or gold glass etching that sits several inches from its frame. Warmer colors work well with gold and for a simple and smooth style use silver to add some personality. - 16732
