I had two sons with a gap of a year and a half, that too when I was nearing my 40s. Since then, every one of my attempts to loose weight has been an utter disaster. So,i made a resolution to myself that i would exercise more this year and try to get back my old shape. I tried taking long walks, or swimming in the lake nearby, and it was all great during the scorching summer. But it's almost winter now, the lake's too cold, and my sons have grown up and don't fit into strollers anymore.
As much fun as it was during the summers, it's just not possible to take a walk or swim in such cold weather. And while on the look out for more options to help me reach my goal, I found
trampoline workouts! I love it, my sons love it, and i couldn't ask for more. I can play with my kids, while I'm getting back into shape. Exercising has never been better.
We purchased the trampoline a bit over a year ago for our boys. They love it, and have spent many hours playing, jumping, and rolling around on it. I noticed changes in them physically, and decided that I could benefit from it too. Not only is jumping on the trampoline a great deal of fun with my sons, it is a fantastic workout.
But if only all things were perfect in this world. Our old dog was getting lonely, so we got him a new friend. Tinker is an adorable, friendly, and fun-loving yellow Labrador cross puppy. She's become so close with not just our old dog, but with my boys too. She trails us all day long, and that means, she's also an unwelcome guest during our trampoline workouts.
But even though I was dead scared that she might dig her little teeth into the trampoline, it was so cute to see her, standing on tip-toes, trying to reach the trampoline floor. It gave me a good laugh every time she did that.
Since Tinker is in a puppy- chew- everything stage, it fell on my shoulders to sort out how to keep her away from the trampoline. The last thing we want to see, is Tinker gnawing holes in our favorite family toy, as replacing our plum trampoline is not in the budget at the moment.
So we tried some remedies to keep her away. My dad sent us a soft plastic snow fence from the North. But it didn't work very well. Tinker started chewing it too. Next we sprayed the fence with a pepper spray. But the rain came and washed it all away. After many such failed attempts, we finally found a solution. Simply fixing chicken wire around the trampoline worked! We even
made it look nice by planting flower beds around the mesh.
Since then, we've had no trouble with Tinker. She eventually gave up chewing the chicken mesh. But the jumping didn't stop, and a few flowers got hurt. But it was no big deal. It would have been more trouble if Tinker made holes in the trampoline floor. Now my workouts continue, and the kids are still having fun. - 16732
