If you stay inland, you are probably enthusiastic to get to your nearest coast to get a taste of diving to see what wonders it may hold. Diving is a really exciting activity if done in the right place, but finding the right place is not as easy as consulting with the local travel agency for a map to the nearest shore. If you are interest in a tourism experience in addition to diving, you should consider heading to Riviera Maya which is parallel to Quintana Roo, Mexico, the Caribbean coastline. This is the best place to find all-inclusive resorts for your delectation. Around it you have majestic places to visit like the Mayan ruins of Tulum and the ancient Chichen Itza. If you're diving in the Riviera Maya area you would also be interested in the Belize barrier reef.

For someone looking for an island experience, Cozumel would be a good place to begin. The dive spots on Cozumel promises well preserved reefs which will definitely keep you returning for more dives. The town of San Miguel de Cozumel found in the Northern part of the Island is the largest town in the vicinity where all the visitors from around the world go to shop for gear and stay in one of the many Cozumel dive resorts.
